Preliminary Exercise
When making our preliminary exercise, we had to follow certain criteria. The 180 degrees rule and a shot reverse shot, we also had to use some continuity editing. As of progress, we have come a long way as we have improved our editing processes, the camera angles and stability, and our dialogue/acting overall. Our A Level piece is a lot better than our prelim, as we made a lot of research into it and thought it through a lot more. You can see our preliminary here.

When we went to make our preliminary task, we didn't really have to do any research; rather we made it without any thorough planning. This made it difficult when coming to make our final production, as we didn't realise quite how much research went into making a production.

This made me and my group think about which genre we would like to make our production on, and then decide from there on how to progress. We decided on 'Sports', so I did some research into the Art of the titles, for example 'Les Bleus de Ramville'.
Research
Although I didn't look at Sports films entirely, I did look at other genres of films, through the Art of the Titles. All of which were very useful to watch as I was able to gain a better understanding as to how films tend to start and the sort of camera shots that are used.

From looking at these other openings, I can take note of how the different titles, and names of the actors are shown; this could help as I could possibly implement this into our own opening. I also saw the different themes used on different openings, and how the correlate to the film itself.
Planning
As for our planning, we had to make many different sheets that we could reference to. For example, we had to make call sheets and shot lists to let the members of our group know whats going on.
Construction
When making our production for our A Level piece, we had to think of many different options for the construction that we could implement. For example, we had to think about which soundtrack we would use, and how we would create it. We overcame this quickly by asking Xander if he could record our soundtrack using the software, 'Sibelius'. We had to think of a possible storyline and perhaps who the protagonist would be in the whole production.
Glide cam & Drone
Upon further development to our production, our group decided to acquire a drone and a glide cam to help give an extra edge to our shots which would help it stand out. We used the school's drone, which allowed us to have bird's eye angled shots for example when Xander walks down the mansion steps. The glide cam allowed us to gain steady shots which then allowed us to further increase the standard and quality of our production, making it look more professional.
Editing
For the editing process, we had to think about the style in which we would edit. For example, we had to think about how we would edit, and the themes in which we would do so. We had to decide whether to edit the production to have a happy feel to it, or perhaps a more emotional edit to add greater impact. We would perhaps do this by using a darker soundtrack and maybe using a tint over the video. We could do this by using various plugins on Final Cut Pro X.
Conclusion
Overall, I have learned various skills over the course of making my group's final production, through talking about the various topics (Research, Planning, Construction, and Editing). The difference can be seen when comparing my preliminary to my final product.
