1. How does each possible solution for your chosen issue meet or fail to meet each of your criteria? Explain.
There are several different types of treatments to prevent and to decrease water pollution that caught my attention the most. For instance placing Biological filters, creating chemical additives, and even Sand filters
The first solution would be a Biological filter treatment in order for it to work it consist of plastic balls, rings or open-profile bio-media that have massive surface areas for beneficial bacteria to adhere to and colonize which would increase the profit for factories that make plastic.
Now for the second solution depending on the type of chemical used added to the water will cause the water to be clean, or if the chemicals are not strong enough or do not work on the water then that’ll be a waste of money for the government and the people had a raise in profit for the companies that sell the chemicals that were being used.
Last but not least sand filters which is used to purify the water which is not the easiest and most convenient since it is very delicate and can damage quickly. Some people would oppose to these certain solution because these simple techniques cost a great amount of money to maintain.
Biological Filters
Chemical Additives

Sand Filters
Based on your research, which is the best solution to turn into action? Explain why you made this choice over the other possible solutions. Refer back to the criteria and externalities.
Based on my research on these 3 solutions i found the placement of biological filters through out the water to be the best and most useful solutions that will be the most effective if turned into action
Biological filtration will remove the harmful waste chemicals that is produced by fish waste and uneaten food in the aquarium
These waste products are the cause of the increase of
ammonia in the water. Ammonia is very toxic in high levels and it is a common cause of fish deaths in new aquarists who fail to keep ammonia levels in check.
Even though my other option were also steps into the right direction , i believe that the advanced technology and equipment used in a biological filter would be most beneficial to the humans and animals affected by water pollution.
Biological Filtration is to be set up with A compartment that water flows through, Bio media for bacteria to establish and grow on, and Beneficial bacteria.
The process where the beneficial bacteria consume chemical waste and converts them into less harmful chemicals while multiplying in numbers to establish themselves is called cycling.
The main thing in bio filter is the beneficial bacteria. Without the beneficial bacteria, there is nothing to carry out the bio filtration.
