Measurements
I will begin to make my advert bar, I have measured the advert bar which is featured on the Evening Chronicle and used these measurements to create my own.
In order to make it I opened up a new page on Photoshop and created a block following the measurements, I chose to make an advert advertising Northumbria University.
Stage 1
The next steps I took were to find a font on 1001fonts. I thought that the font More News From Regular was best suited for this advert.
I placed the writing in the middle of the block because I felt that it looked more eye catching.
stage 2
In order to make it look more realistic I added dates which open days are usually held on, Wednesdays and Saturdays. This will allow my advert bar to come across as more believable and realistic.
Stage 3
I then proceeded to add the Northumrbia University logo so people would know which university were advertising an open day. I will have to email Northumbria University in order to ask whether or not I can use their logo on my newspaper.
Stage 4
I then used two images of fellow students to make it look like they were students at Northumbria, this then led to me cutting around the two images to allow me to place them onto my advert bar.
Stage 5
By cutting around them using the Magic Wand tool it helped to create the look I was going for by having them against the purple background.
I also boosted up the brightness and brought down the contrast.
STAGE 5 - FINAL STAGE
Once I had cut out the images that I needed, I then went on to situating them in the left hand side of my advert bar.
I felt like situating them in that position would be the most beneficial as it would help to fill out the advert bar and make it look more balanced out by having images at both sides.
