Evaluation Q1
In what way does your media product use, develop and challenge conventions of real media products?
hOW OUR Digipak challenge conventions of a real media product?
Our Digipak does challenge conventions of real media products as it does divert from the norm. This is done by the Digipak portraying parts of the narrative, of its main song, through an array of images. This is done by having images showing the artists different personalities as their is a contrast between the top right image and the rest which could signify how she could be going insane.
This is also done by having a variety of different shots such as close ups, medium shots and long shots which is done to show off our artist in more than one way. This is very uncommon in Digipak's as they usually do not need to show the viewer the artist as much as we do due to how well known they are.
How our Digipak develops conventions of real media products?
The way in which our Digipak develops conventions of real media products is due to the images used. This is because well known singers/bands Digipak's do not have to show off their artists as much as up and coming artists such as ours. We had to do this so we could market and portray are artist in a good way to attract a bigger audience

Another development in our Digipak is by showing the location, this is done through putting an image of only the location on the CD. This is a development as in the Artic Monkeys Digipak have just an image related to theirs such as cigarettes.

Influences
In comparison to the 1975's Digipak ours is developed to suit not only the style of our artist but to portrayer her better. This is due the 1975's logo being known world wide which is why their Digipak is so simple in comparison to ours. We have developed our Digipak to suit our audience needs, this means that there are a lot more images of the actual artist.
Another example of this is the Arctic Monkeys "whatever people say I am, that's what I'm not." This famous indie bands Digipak shows nothing of the actual band other than the name. But due to them being so well known their large audience know exactly who they are and the type of music, while no one would know who our artist if we had a Digipak such as theirs.
How our Digipak uses conventions of a real media product?
The way in which our Digipak uses real conventions of actual Digipak's is by using the same format and layout out measurements, this is so our one can be used as a real album cover and can show other images of our artist and location making it same like a real media product. This is furthered by the spin of the Digipak which has the artist's logo and album name. This a convention of a real media product as real Digipaks use this.
Another real media convention is the barcode and the copyright writing on the back cover, this is done to make it more realistic as well as the "parental advisory" label on the front cover
influences
Shown through the two images, which are parts of whole Digipaks, our Digipak uses conventions of real media products. This is due to the two Digipaks having a bar code which allows the product to be sold; showing that we use conventions of real media products. Another point similar to this is that both include writing which state what music company made the album.
Further more both the real media product and ours involve a spin. This is so the Digipak can fold up and fit into a real CD to create a complete album. They can also be used to further show what album it is and who it is done by as on the arctic monkeys it says their name and the name of the album such as ours.
How our website challenges conventions of a real media product

The way in which our website challenges conventions of a real media products is by having our own scheme and design. This is because we wanted our website to be unique in comparison to others, we did this by having our own colour scheme with the very bright and natural colours, with the background being white, the green and red from the images and the blue writing all gives a sense of the environment. This gives the effect of nature which is heavily included in the actual music video showing the synergy across all formats.
