The history about the Canadian Thanksgiving began in 1578. Martin Frobisher an English explorer, was in search of new lands in the Northwest Passage.

He's intentions of starting a small ''settlement'', he voyage with 15 ships was outfitted with men, materials, workers, and supplies.

In 1879, Thanksgiving was officially celebrated annually in Canada. It was celebrated as an national rather than a religious holiday. Thanksgiving never really had an exact date for the celebration, until 1957.
