Video Camera & Audacity
I used a video camera to film the shots and sequences of my film trailer. Whilst filming I used a tripod to balance the camera so that the filming was steady and not shaky, using the tripod meant my recording was controlled and so went the way I intended.
I also used the video camera to record sound effects as it was better quality recording than from my mobile phone. I recorded my singing as well, I then used Audacity to combine with an instrumental backing track that I had previously removed the original vocals from.
Once I had all the footage I needed, I uploaded it onto the computer via the USB cable that came with the video camera.
YouTube/Google
YouTube allowed me to search and find many pieces of non-copyright music that was conventional for the horror genre and suitable for my film trailer.
Just like YouTube, Google allowed me to search and find many pieces of non-copyright music as well. In addition, google helped me find sound effects as well that were also conventional of the horror genre.
Adobe Premiere Elements
After I had filmed my shots and chosen my background music/sound effects, I began to create and edit my film trailer on the Adobe Premiere Elements software. To start with, I uploaded all of my footage and edited them together and then I could see if I needed any more footage or to re-film.
Once I had done this I added titles screens to my trailer. I chose the default text because I could edit this in the future if it did not look right. Finally, I added sound to my film trailer. I could listen to it and watch the clips to see where it fitted the best. I then trimmed the length of the sounds so that they would fit perfectly within my film trailer and I also added fades in and out with the music so the transitions between the different sounds were less abrupt/obvious and so they played smoothly.
