Research Question: How is the theme of abuse of power in 1984 a reflection of the time it was written in? 

Central Assertion: George Orwell expresses the theme of abuse of power through literary devices such as similes, metaphors, repetition and symbolism, in order to reflect the time that 1984 was written in.

How does Orwell Express the theme of Abuse of Power?
