Film Noir, Opening

Film Noir, Opening Title Sequence
Fallen Angel is a Film Noir from 1945. I am analysing it to take note on how the opening title sequence is constructed. I've decided to show my analysis of the opening title sequence on an Emaze presentation to attempt make me blog more interactive.
As the opening title sequence starts, it begins by telling us the film studio that helped produce the Noir. Compared to the rest of the opening title sequence, the font used here is different to emphasise the film company. By analysing this, we would plan for our opening title sequence to begin by showing our identity as a group, and have the font of that different to make our film company name stand out.
After the identity of the film company has been shown, the next titles that come up name the actors who star in the production. In this case, it names the three actors then says 'in', implying that the title of the film will be shown next. For our final piece, we will probably show mine and Heathers names as actors in a similar way.
After the company who produced the film have been identified and we have become aware of the actors, the title of the film itself is shown. The font used to display the name of the film is different to that used to show the actors. This makes the title of the film stand out, and the fact that the previous titles showed the two actors who are staring in this film, we believe that they will be the main characters. For our final piece, we definitely plan to make the title of our film stand out, and we plan to follow the conventions as much as we can, to show our two main actors before our title.
So now we are aware of the company who produced the film, the two main actors, and the name of the film. The main aspects of the film in terms of the production have already been given to us, so now it displays another title with other actors that star in the film. For our piece, obviously we only have two actors as we are only recreating a opening title sequence, but we will aim to fill this gap with other people who were associated with the ideas and production of our final piece.
The next title talks about the screenplay of the production, and credits an author who wrote the book which the Film Noir is based on. From analysing this, I can notice that the main elements of the film are shown in the early titles, whilst the credit for 'behind the scenes' work is shown more towards the end. For our final piece, we will look to credit each other for each role we played in terms of the general making of our film, such as the narrative ideas and script writing.
As mentioned in the previous slide, these titles credit the people who worked behind the scenes to help bring the film together as a whole. We can see from this title that it specifically credits the people responsible for the work in photography, and the music, not to mention naming the song so that the audience are aware the name and artist of the music. For our piece, we will definitely include credit to where we found our music, and the name of the song, as well as giving credit to each other where necessary for photograph aspects.
As the titles draw to a close, the remaining people involved in the making of the film are credited. It displays the names of the people involved in costumes, editing the film and other aspects related to this. This is definitely a title we will look to include when editing our opening title sequence because we plan to stick to these conventions that Film Noir's have, and we definitely need to give credit where due for each part of the production of our film.
