Analyzing previous student work
By Korrie Powell
The Jewellers
This student work really intrigued me as it was a animated, which it shows the groups diversity from the rest of the other students as from looking at them it has become evident that they all feature a plain photo with hardly any animation. With the use of animation it helps to catches the audience's eye. They feature diamonds throughout their digipak and advertisement which shows the synergy that they have used creating a 'identity' for themselves. Furthermore they stick to the rule of having clear photos using a white background to really bring out the image of the band.Overall I give the digipak and advertisement 9/10
ANDY TRAVIS
This student's work was very impressive as I like they way they used a medium shot of the artist, showing him and his guitar, this creates a sense of identity as it shows the audience who the artist is and his special talent (Guitar). The use of location was another key feature that stood out for me, having it set in a nice park with loads of trees/plants makes  the artist seem 'genuine' which relates to their audience/genre which is indie, who are known for having artists/bands who use intrusments and that are singed to independent record labells e.g. Bella union.
If I was to change anything about the digipak I would change the CD cover as I think even though the main thing is to promote their artist, it would of been much more intresting if they did something different to make their target audience want to buy it more. Overall I give this 8/10.
ROMY
In Romy's digipak and advertisement she follows the rules of sticking to two clear fonts, which she uses very wisely as they relate to her music genre (pop),by having the album name in a squiggly and curly font, also the artist name is in a clear bold black colour and having it in a large font it helps the audience direct their eyes to it, the CD cover is the same colour of the digipack so it helps to keep simplicity. In addition to this the advertisement  picture is very big which is what you would normally see in pop genre as the artist is the main center of attention. Overall I very much enjoyed this ancillary work and I give both the digipak and advertisment 9/10
