In terms of using technology for research we used Google Chrome and YouTube to look up the conventions of real media products and bands. We typed 'Dream pop' into both of these sites and looked at artists and songs that were similar to ours. From YouTube we were able
to look at other artists video's from this we determined that all of the videos showed a journey, they showed shots of places or they showed more images of just pure colour. We used what we had found and decided to incorporate the two ideas into our video. Without YouTube we would never have been able to find this out.
From Google Chrome we could see how the bands similar to ours structured their websites and their digipaks. We found that all of the digipaks used bizarre pictures that were quirky and out there, we also found that they used a wide range of websites and there wasn't much of a convention for the website. From this we took the digipak conventions and developed it further making it our own. We also was free to do whatever we wanted which was a good thing to know which we wouldn't have known without Google chrome.
We also used Adobe Premiere to practice our editing skills, using clips from YouTube we got to know the software so we knew it well enough for when we done our video. We also knew how to make the shots link to our genre.
