What kind of Media Institution might distribute your media product and why?
Harris publications, was founded by Stanley R. Harris, he founded the magazine in 1985 and has published over 75 magazines, which have all been really successful. I have chosen HARRIS PUBLICATIONS to publish my magazine. Harris publications has published magazines such as guitar world, revolver, scratch, elektro and hip hop magazine XXL, all of these magazines are and have been successful. However, magazine XXL was not published after 2014, due to the fact that consumers stopped purchasing the magazine as it was available online, which is why they stopped publishing print adverts.
Moreover, I have chosen to make my magazine available online, but consumers would have to subscribe online, monthly to access exclusive information that they wouldn't find in the magazine.
Finally, my magazine will be available in all newsagents in local areas, at train and bus stations to be purchased allowing people to have something to read whilst on the and lastly, an app which can be downloaded for subscribers to access the magazine on their smartphones.
Furthermore, I will not be using the time-out model which is what the newspaper the Evening standard use, this model would not be applicable for my magazine, as I have a niche audience, using this model would cause fall in magazine sales, which would be really bad for my magazine and publisher
