Paulsen didn’t have a actual family life until the age of seven because he lived with a lot of different people, like at first he lived with his grandmother, but then at the age of seven he went to go live with his mother. Garry's parents are Eunice H. Paulsen, Oscar Paulsen. Gary could not take his parent’s disturbed life for any longer and ran away at the age of 14 and worked at a sugar beet farm. He quit that job and spent the final part of his summer as a “carnie” in the carnival.

Gary Paulson became famous by being a writer and because he focuses on wilderness tales, most famous for his novels Dogsong, Winter Room, and Hatchet. 

These are Garry’s major accomplishments were getting the John Newbery Medal, Regina Medal, Margaret Edwards Award, Dorothy Canfield Fisher Children's Book Award on his books. The major reason that these are his greatest accomplishments are because that only the best out of the best top selling book’s get these awards which made him have hope in his writing.

Garry got with a nice woman named Ruth Wright, also Garry is still with her today. Also Garry had 3 kids and their names are Lynn Paulsen, James Wright And Lance Paulsen and a unknown age

Garry got his education at Bemidji State University,  and University of Colorado Boulder

Garry was a very kind man, He really like the wilderness and reading. Also he had a vary troubled childhood (like i said earlier on in this presentation),which is also vary in surprising .The reason this is because he has a good and loving wife, and has nice children, and he is a very successful book writer.
