the  forms of poetry part 1
welcome back everyone!
Welcome back! Today we are going to be talking about the forms of poetry!
a quick notice
We are about to learn about the different forms of poetry, and what I have to say about this is that we shall not finish in this presentation but we shall continue on with this next week, but everything's under control
" Lining up"
Starting it off we will be talking about " Multiple Line " Poems. What I mean by that is poems that have 2 lines, 3 lines, 4 lines, and more. You might be asking me what is a line, well a line is a phrase or small sentence like part of a poem. Now some poems can have a minimum of 2 lines to infinity, but not really, everything has to come to an end, now let me show you some examples of these types of poems.

Take a look at these multiple line poems:

now try it for yourself and experiment with what you have learned and create some 2, 3, and 4 lined poems, you all have 5 minutes, after that we will share
learning your a, b, and c's
Now that we have covered lines we can move on to the A B and C's. The A B and C's  of poetry to be exact. The A B and C's of poetry are basically the VERSE order/ the order of a verse. Right now you may be asking what is a verse. Well a verse is just basically a rhyme segment from a poem. A verse sometimes is identified by an A or B, A and B are both the same because they both represent a normal verse but one just represents another. Now the reason I am not really talking about C is because C isn't really used very often. C represents 1 individual line ( not verse ) in a poem. C is just an extra little line that is sometimes used to end the poem.

The cat is just fat,
he is always like that,
he loves to eat mice,
those mice that eat rice,
he is just always like that.

Here are some quick examples of A B and C poems:

now go and try some of this out, try to make some AABB,ABAB, and AABBC/Ababc you all have 5 minutes, then we shall share
not so epic
By the title you may know what we are going to talk about now, if you don't know what it is then it's simple, we will now be talking about EPIC POEMS
So what are EPIC POEMS to be exact, well an epic poem is a type of poem that tells a story, or a story in the form of a poem. An example of an epic poem would be Romeo & Juliet. As you may or may not know, that play is actually a type of epic poem. An epic poem has no special rules other than it having to be following a story, and epic poems do not have to rhyme but they are more distinguishable ( easier to "separate" from a normal narrative story ) when they do have rhyming lines and verses.
try it: ( again )
now try it for yourself and create a small epic poem, you will all have 8 minutes and then we will share
well that's all for now, to be continued...
for now with our remaining time we could play a game, what should it be?
Rhyme Time Mania, Consentration, or 2 Truths and a Lie
