Garageband is a software by Apple which allows you to make soundtracks. The software has sounds from many musical instruments and voices which can be used and collaborated to make a unique track. This is very useful when making films and other types of media.
When running Garageband, there is an option called New Project. This will start a fresh new page to create a soundtrack from scratch. (These are created with the sounds already in the Garageband library although you can import tracks).
There is a loop icon which opens the sound library when clicked on.
Once you choose the sound of your choice, you drag it on to the timeline. You can move it up and down the timeline depending on when you want the sound to start .
Once the sounds are dragged to the timeline, you can make them repeat again and again by looping. To do this you hold the mouse over a loop till the cursor becomes circular. Then you click and drag it as further down as you wish. To delete anything, you simply press backspace.
To save any files you export it on a disk and save it there. Sound tracks on Garageband can then be opened up on Final Cut Pro.
