What Action/Comedy Includes?

Following our research into Action/Comedy we came across nearly all action films will include a plot (heist or plan to kill), Main characters of different skill quality and a plan to escape. We also found that comedy with action needs to be discrete humour, this can be through a character or dialogue. Following this we found all action films consist of a similar plot, this plot begins with the plan, then the transition to action and finally the get away/result of the event.

Finally what is clear in all action/comedy films is that there is always clear use of violence, whether this is the use of fire arms, fight scenes or comedy references to violence. As well as this most action/comedy films use at least one slightly less skilled character to bring the clarity of humour.

Similar Film Analysis.

To give ourselves a clear image of how most action/comedy films are sequenced we used both 'Central Intelligence' and '21  Jump Street'. From these films we understood that the humour works effectively if it is shown briefly in a serious scene of action. On the other hand we came to see how the lack of skill in one character can be funny yet become vital to the main event, for example the character could save the more skilled individual.

What We Created.

To ensure we accurately represented our action/comedy genre we made continuous reflections of humour through out the process of preparing and performing the heist, This consisted of references to irrelevant props, actions and dialogue.

Further more we have also ensured that our opening is unique by using the props in order to create our humour.

These screenshots of our film opening are representing our film in the 10 greatest and most effective moments. All shots took inspiration from similar action comedy films such as '21 jump street' and 'central intelligence'.

Image 1: this is the first moment of the opening where the main characters are revealed in a mysterious light (costumes), this helps give the impression of the heist.
