Q3 - What kind of institution might distribute your media production & why?
Pelican productions
We used this production company as this was created by Pip. This is as our film has a direct link to Pelican Productions Company as Pip is also the director of our film as well. As Pelican Productions is a small unknown production company we will use the free ways to promote our film such as social media and also the cheap ways such as newspaper advertisement and local radio stations.
Focus Features
however
to try and make our film a success abroad we partnered with American company
Focus features to get the film publicised in the US and make the film bigger
publicly. This compares to Pelican Productions as this will be able to distribute our film in the Us which will cover a larger area and which could get more of the target audience to come and watch the film.
Film 4
We
used Film 4 as our film is filmed and set in Britain as Film 4 specialised in British
films independent and blockbusters. Our film also includes British actors so
therefore fills the strong British film category which lies in with Film4 as a
good filming company to partner with. This compares to the other companies as this is only in britain which will attract a strong British audience as our film is filmed, produced and actors all from Britain.
Film Inspirations
Locke,
midnight express.
These were inspirations as we had a similar genre to these
films of crime and drugs. Also as threy were hard hitting, thriller aimed at the target audience of adults.
However, it differs to these films as our film is a British production.
