I have used the software Prezi to create presentations throughout the course so far. I feel Prezi is a great piece of software for displaying information such as theorists, I feel this because it looks very interesting with all the bubbles. All because the software uses bubbles as a way of displaying the information it keeps it interesting as you can't put too much writing in each box or it looks to busy and makes it difficult to read.

This software was new to me as I had never used it before I started this course, but find it easy and one that I will use again in the future.

Prezi

Image and Text

I have used image and text for the analysis of magazine front covers, during the research period before I started the construction of my magazine. The use of text and image keeps the information simple and easy to read, and it very easy to create.

Flickr

I think Flickr is a great piece of software, I have used it so far in the media course for sharing the photo's I've taken for my magazine and preliminary task to share with other students in the class and receive target audience feedback on them and how I could improve the photographs that I have taken.

Macs

A major piece of technology that I have used in the construction of my magazine is a Mac. Everything I have done for my magazine was created using a Mac. At the start of the course I hadn't really used a Mac very much and wasn't very confident using one, but now as my magazine is complete I a lot more comfortable in the use of Macs. Due to using a Mac alot throughout the construction of my magazine I decided to buy a Macbook of my own as I enjoyed using the technology so much.

Camera

Panasonic Lumix Fz6s

The use of these pieces of technologies was a new experience for my in my journey of creating a magazine. I had used a camera before starting the media course but never new any of the extra features of a camera that are so cruitial to get a good photo e.g the thirds rule. Also taking photo's of my models outside with natural light was also a new experience as the camera had to catch the model from a certain angle to get the lighting of the models face correct.

Memory card and memory card reader

Before I started on the media course I had never used a memory card reader before, this is because I have never used a memory card before. This is a skill that I have have learnt through the transportation of my photos to a Mac, this is a skill that will be very useful for the future.

Adobe Element 11 Photoshop

Overall I feel that the most technological progression I have made was through the use of Adobe Elements 11 Photoshop. All of the images and the pages for my magazine were created using this software. Before the media course I had never used this software before, so it was all completely new to me. The initial appearance of Adobe Elements 11 Photoshop was very daunting as there is lots of buttons everywhere that I had no idea what to do with. After completing the preliminary task I felt a little more comfortable with the use of this software as I had created a magazine for college. By the time we starting creating our actually music magazine I had learnt more about the different tools that this software had to offer and felt a lot more confident using it.

Embedding

One skill I have definitely learnt how to do on this course is how to embed things onto my blog. This is a skill I have had to learn so I can upload work such as Prezis, Powtoons, Emaze's and Slidelys onto my blog.
