CONSTRUCTION:FILM POSTER
Planning:
Through my research into other film posters, I understood that many films with a strong female lead had their protagonist places in the centre of their film poster. So when planning my film poster I kept this idea in mind.

I firstly produced a rough sketch of the poster I wanted to create, so I  had a plan to work from.

Photoshoot:
During the shoot I knew that I wanted a strong image of my protagonist. But I also wanted her to look casual and relaxed this way she would be very relatable to our target audience. Also I knew that I was going to be isolating the image from the background on Photoshop so took all of the images infront of a white wall.
The main aim was to take a full length shot of the protagonist as I wanted it to be the full length of the poster so that it would divide the poster into two halves.

Layout/Editing:
After the shoot I decided to edit my images in PhotoshopThe first step was to use the lasso tool to cut out the figure of Daisy, and transfer it onto a new layer.

Next I chose a background colour and made sure that the image and the background were blended together.

Next I created a new layer and inserted a text box. In this text box I wrote the word 'Dreaming' multiple times. However I then decided that would look more effective if I changed the size of some of the text, however I kept the font the same to be consistent.

Font:
I used then DaFont website to search for a font for the film title. My partner and I saw it as very important that we chose the same font to create synergy for our film and both of our posters.

Originally we chose these fonts:
Font:
We particularly liked the font 'Daisy Mae' however, when I tested it on my poster it did not stand out enough against the colourful background.
Symbolism:
I wanted the split down the middle of the poster with one side filled with the words 'dreaming' and the other to be empty this would show the contrast in Daisy's life she has her ambitious mind set but also her reality

I wanted the left side to represent Daisy's creative imagination and all the dreams in her scrapbook. Whereas the right side represents the harsh reality of her illness.
