Dogs were great mascots. Some dogs brought bandages into the battle field, some were even trained to find soldiers in "No Mans Land" Sergeant Stubby was the most decorated solider with all those medals on his uniform

Pigeons were used in WW1 to send messages from the from line back to base. Cher Ami was one of the best pigeons in WW1. She saved 194 soldier lives. She saved all those lives on October 3 1918.
