His parents were Harald Dahl and Sofie Magdalene Dahl. His older sister Astri died from an infection when she was only seven. Weeks later, Roald’s Father, Harald died at the age of 57 of pneumonia when Roald Dahl was only 4 year old. His spouse was Felicity d’Abreu Crosland and Patricia Neal and he had 5 children. Their names were Lucy Dahl, Tessa Dahl, Ophelia Dahl, Theo Matthew Dahl and Olivia Twenty Dahl.

His favourite food is caviar and his favourite smell is frying bacon. His favourite book when he was young was Mr.Midshipman Easy which was written by Frederick Marryat.

Roald Dahl was born on September 13th 1916 in Llandaff, He died on November 23rd 1990 aged 74 in Oxford. He died of a rare blood disease called myelodysplastic syndrome.
