Is gender represented in a stereotypical way?
In our opening sequence gender is represented in a stereotypical way. For example the characters are a group of typical teenage girls getting ready for a party, they are all wearing dresses, putting on their make up and fixing their hair. Also, girls are stereotypically known to have too much clothing, and this is shown when one of the characters has too many shoes so she cannot find the pair she wants. plus, there is a lot of make up and hair products lying around near the mirror and they are showing that they also have a big focus on appearance.
There are also ways in which gender is not represented in a stereotypical way for example, the dopey character is usually blonde whereas in our film the blonde character is not the dopey one.
