Themes/Imagery

The main theme portrayed across all my media products is exploring deep thoughts and feelings. This is shown through the consistent use of dark colours throughout from the backdrop to the artists clothing which creates a downbeat atmosphere. This atmosphere enables the audience to connect with him as they're able to feel his sense of determination and body language imagery was used to emphasize his strong emotion towards his situation. Certain location shots from the music video linked with the lyrics such as "Then I go Clapton" which gives the audience a direct visual of where the artist is referring to which is effective in trying to portray the surroundings which has a big impact on the artists life.

House Style

The house style is kept consistent across all products and consists of mostly dark colours such as black, grey and white typography to stand out amongst the dark colours and also portray a bright new beginning. However, it isn't as easy to identify in the video as it is in the print products. In order not to over complicate the house style I've only used 2 fonts throughout which are courier new and impact. I chose to use these two fonts as i thought they were fonts that are well suited to my genre, grime as they urban and bold and bold fonts are commonly found on Grime print products. The house style represents the mood that is created in the track. A dark background is also a part of my house style which I used as a direct representation of his background being dark and a struggle because of where he was brought up and the disadvantages connected to this.

How well does the products promote the music video?

I feel that my print products promote the music video well as there is a clear connection between the two which allows the audience to easily identify elements of the music video within the print products. For example the artists authorage is clearly highlighted in the print products which makes it recognisable to audiences.
Link To Real World Products
In the real world there are other ways of promoting the artist other than just through magazine adverts, this initially can include all media platforms: print, broadcast and e-media. The most successful way of reaching out to the target audience of young people would be through social media (e-media) as its common particularly amongst this group. Social media such as twitter would be a key feature of promoting the artist as it’s known for being a site where artists update their fans on their upcoming albums and shows and it’s also quick and easy to access. However, not everyone uses social media and this may mean that you’re not able to reach all target audience just through social media alone. Therefore if  operating in the real world I may extend my package promotion methods to tv appearances which makes it more likely that you’ll reach a mass audience. TV appearances allow the artist to get more exposure and are also an example of synergy as by promoting the artist you’re also promoting the show as the fans of the show may be enticed by the artists feature on the show and vice versa. However because of the genre, Grime, I feel that radio appearances are more common and would appeal more to the target audience such as Radio 1 extra.
